Habitat is re-introducing Bamboo Ply construction to the line. Bamboo Ply boards are constructed with seven thin traditional ply's of Maple and a Bamboo top veneer. This combination utilizes the best characteristics of both woods. Habitat skateboards has re-engineered the original construction with a deeper concave and stronger lam configuration. This improved formula adds strength without additional weight. The top veneer is natural stained bamboo with a full bleed Bamboo Ply printed pattern. Habitat skateboards also has Hemp ply, Hemp Ply has been one of Habitats most popular constructions for those looking for a slightly stronger deck. A thin sheet of Hemp fabric is pressed into the deck for added strength and rigidness. For 2009 we are re-engineering the construction with the Hemp sheet being pressed onto the top ply and sealed with recycled plastic. This creates a unique look and makes the technology more visual then the original Hemp Ply.
