As of January 2009 the Real Actions Realized decks have been able to raise $5,090 for the Autism Speaks Foundation!

On a recent trip to skate Eastern Skate Supply's new park we spoke with Eastern sales guy John Pike. John's son Gianni was diagnosed with autism when he as 2. John has worked hard since with Autism Speaks to bring awareness and raise money to benefit autism research. He suggested an Actions Realized deck and here it is. Thanks John.

Choose the Right Board

Understanding how your board is made and how it works is crucial to choosing the right board. The feel of a board is made up of several components; materials, construction, concave, shape and dimensions (wheelbase, length, width, nose and tail). All these factors add up to the final result and how it will feel under your feet.

Skateboard deck width and length is determined by individual need and desire of the skateboarder. It also is determined by the type of skating you plan to do. Wider decks (over 8" wide) are normally used for vert / ramp / park skating. Narrower decks (7.5" - 8.0") tend to be used for street skating. Most skateboards fall within the width range of 7.5 to 8 inches. There are some that are slightly smaller or slightly larger. Smaller boards are easier to control and do flip tricks with on the road. Wider boards are easier to manipulate in a pool. Pick the skateboard you will be most comfortable with and have the most fun skating around on.
