When we introduced a high-tech park and backcountry jump twin tip last season, it was an unprecedented design approach—load up a freestyle board with all the SDS technology for lightness and pop. And so the uniquely-shaped Mod was born. It quickly became a favorite of the team, with Bjorn, Yan and Will all logging days and logging film on it—from backcountry kickers to park sessions. In Year 2 for the Mod, it decreases its weight and broadens its reach with three new lengths.
The PowerAmp Technology Story—Ollie Higher
When you bend bamboo, it snaps back with a dynamic pop. This makes it ideal for strategic use in core design—placed in the right spots and in the right amounts and it adds a ton of ollie power. In the Mod, we use our Centerline Twin mapping of the bamboo stringers so that riders have increased longitudinal pop, whether they are riding their natural stance or switch. And because the bamboo is located in the centerline of the board, there is no unwanted torsional stiffness for park and backcountry jump performance.
